Inspirational Art Project
In the beginning of this project I knew I wanted to adapt a painting and somehow make it my own or change some aspect of it. As I was looking through paintings on the internet, I came across one that was pleasant and almost relaxing to look at and I could almost imagine myself within the painting, experiencing the setting on my own.
The painting was Georges Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. It caught my attention because I could see that a lot was going on in the painting, but at the same it was very calming to look at. I immediately knew that I wanted to make it slightly more modern but still hold the same charm as the original painting.
If you look below you will be able to see my adaptation of Georges Seurat's painting. While there is not nearly as much going on in mine, I made sure to capture a similar feeling in the painting as in Georges Seurat's.
