What the Media Does To You
By Elly Jarvis and Chandler Corey
Where do you go when you're lonely?
Where do you go to boost your confidence?
The media is the answer.
But is it at all real.
That like on your on your picture?
Or your followers you call friends?
It’s as if you’re talking to a screen.
Those likes, those followers don’t show how beautiful you are.
They’re nothing close to your true beauty.
When did society start putting their faith in a screen?
A screen doesn’t show you who you are.
The media draws you in.
It tells you lies!
It rips you apart.
Makes you insecure!
It’s all wrong!
Does it tell you anything about yourself?
Where you’ve been?
What you’ve done?
How you are?
Go outside!
Make a connection.
A face-to-face connection.
Not a wifi connection.
Media maybe the one thing that brings us together.
But it also separates us.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
But we make it this way.
