Spanish Video #1
Reflection
Spanish Video #1 was the first video I created in Spanish class. My partner Claire and I decided that the subject we were going to talk about was the activities we are involved in. The conversation started out being about school and later on the subject shifted to the sports we're involved in. For my first video I thought my partner and I did pretty well. Our conversation subjects flowed pretty well, but there were a couple of pauses. I went into the video being good at the basics of conversation, mostly question and answer. In preparation for the video I learned some new question structures in order to have a conversation surrounding our subject. A challenge that I have in Spanish is the memorization of the sentence structures. For example instead of saying my favorite sport, in Spanish you would mi deporte favorito. When I know certain words in Spanish, my extinct is to set them up in a sentence that follows the structure of an English sentence. This challenge that I have makes it more difficult to have conversations that flow in Spanish. Something that could help is practicing my Spanish outside of class in order to become more familiar with the Spanish vocabulary and sentence structures. If I do this my conversations would certainly flow better and I would understand what I'm saying. My partner Claire was amazing, she was able to help me study and during the video made the conversation flow better and have fewer pauses.
